default Tip #1 Getting the most out of your corn cob pipe: Lighting Corn Cob Pipes

I put together a list of tips on how to get the most out of a corn cob pipe, and a friend suggested that I make a video out of them. This first video covers such a simple topic that it’s almost embarrassing, but this may be the first time some folks here this info, so here goes. This tip covers lighting a pipe. Filmed in Vegas just days before the big snow storm in Dec 2008.

  1. I'm thinking of taking up pipe smoking because I want to quit smoking cigarettes. Can you smoke roll your own tobacco in a corn cob pipe?

  2. I was just there LITERALLY last week~ The southern end of the strip, lol, practically across the street from the airport, lol~ that was the "sign" pull off~ Had my pipes in the Riviera, Luxor (near where you were standing across from the Mandalay Bay) Enjoyed some good cigars out there as well~

  3. @madogblue Thanks for the feedback and the comment. Get a few bowls smoked, and whenever you get a chance, stop back by our web site and leave a review of your Gent.

  4. @Stapler78 If they did I'm sure they learned that it wasn't the smartest thing to do. Sort of reminds me of the wood lathe, which is one of the earliest power tools known to man. It's also the only tool where the wood is powered at the cutting tools are held in the hand. I always figured that they stepped back and said "Let's not do THAT again!"

  5. Here lately, I find myself leaning on my corn cob pipe more and more. I find that it gives a consistently good smoke. I'll definitely be getting another one for my rotation.

  6. I used a torch style lighter with my briar pipe because I was out of matches. I ended up charring the edge of my pipe – it was way too hot.
